Best Stick Vacuum Review

After weeks of researching and testing eight of the top stick vacuums available, we foundthat the Shark - Rocket HV382 was the best stick vacuum.

For full details on our finalists, you can check out our unbiased review on YourBestDigs.

com.

So, what is a Stick Vacuum?Stick Vacuums are the scrappy little brother of your traditional upright vacuum.

They’re lightweight and compact, making them ideal for quick clean ups and storage.

They also come in corded and cordless options with detaching heads, which means you canclean more surfaces and hard-to-reach spots than you can with a traditional vacuum.

Here’s a list of our Best Stick Vacuums: Number One, the Shark Rocket HV382The best cordless, the Dyson V8 Absolute.

And, our budget pick, the Dirt Devil SimpliStik.

Here’s how we tested.

There’s a lot to consider when choosing a stick vacuum, but mainly you should be lookingfor performance and user experience.

Our performance check tested object and particle suction on a variety of surfaces like carpet, rugs, and linoleum flooring.

It also tested picking up stubborn objects like cat hair and sticky foods.

After that, we rated our user experience.

How easy was it to maneuver? How heavy was it?Does it take a long time to charge? All of this came into play when deciding on our favorite vacuums.

The Shark - Rocket HV382 was our overall best stick vacuum.

One thing that made this vacuum particularly special, was its open-face, DuoClean design.

This design allowed the Shark’s brush roll system to take down taller piles of debriswithout snow-plowing them into bigger messes.

The Shark also had the most powerful suction, picking up more debris thanthe rest of our finalists.

As far as user experience goes, we loved this thing.

Its self-propelled motion and swivel steering gave the Shark a natural glide, which madevacuuming easy, and kind of fun!At 10 pounds, the Shark may be the heaviest of our picks, but it flowed so nicely we hardlynoticed.

It also has powerful LED headlights to illuminate dark corners and underneath furniture, somethingnone of our other eight testers had.

We found virtually nothing wrong with the Shark.

At around half the price of our best cordless pick, this one-of-a-kind stick vacuum is ano brainer for any homeowner.

If you’re looking for some extra mobility, we recommend the Dyson V8 Absolute, ourbest cordless stick vacuum.

Powered by Dyson’s digital v8 motor system, this vacuum had strong suction that’s veryclose to what you’d get from a traditional upright machine.

As a result, it performed better than all of our eight finalists besides the Shark.

It also had zero dust kickback and actually cleaned the as it was used.

That power comes at a cost, though, both in the bank and in energy.

Powerful mode offers 40 minutes of run time and the MAX mode only 7.

And, once your battery runs out, it will take 4 hours to charge back up.

While that may sound disproportionate, the Dyson actually has 10 more minutes of runtime than any other models we tested for the same charge duration.

The mantra of the stick vacuum game is convenience, convenience, convenience.

Not only does the Dyson deliver on that, but it also brings power that no other cordlessvacuum can offer.

If you’ve got the budget for our most expensive pick, at over $400, go ahead and buy it.

If you’re on a tight budget, we recommend the Dirt Devil SimpliStik.

It's a reliable stick vacuum for less than a quarter of the price of our other finalists.

It doesn’t have the brushroll, LED lighting, or swivel steering of our other finalists, but it is excellent with the basics.

With a lengthy 16-foot-long cord, light frame and ability to convert into a handheld device, the Dirt Devil is surprisingly user friendly and perfect for anyone who wants a straightforwardcleaning tool.

The Dirt Devil’s performance is also something to take notice of.

It easily out-performed our other budget models, but, understandably, fell short of our higher-endpicks.

When picking up pet hair, for instance, the Dirt Devil only picked up 2 grams of hairwhile the Shark picked up 14.

All in all, we found the Dirt Devil to be a handy multi-functional stick vacuum thattackles most jobs surprisingly well.
