- Hi, I'm Parris, and if you've had a rainy spring, you might wanna check out some of the latestin umbrella technology.
Yes, there is such a thing.
They're making improvements.
Today I'm gonna be trying out the Pocket Incredi-Brella,and this is basically a pocket formof this type of umbrella.
This is the Better Brella, and I really like this umbrella.
The one thing I wished is that it was small enoughthat I could actually put in a bagand it would be easy to take with.
Maybe it's the perfect umbrella.
♫ Epic Review GuysThe as seen on TV Pocket Incredi-Brellais one button push to open, one button push to close,so you don't have to get wet openingand closing your umbrella getting in and outof the car, in and out of your house, and this umbrella, with technologysimilar to that in the Better Brella, not only is about half the size, half the price.
Picked this up for about $15 over at Walmart.
You can find out more about itat the link down below this video.
And it's supposed to rain this afternoon,so I'm counting on that happening so I can show youthe special features of this and how well it works.
Well, as you can see, about half the sizeof the full sized umbrella using the same,it's like an inside out umbrella basically.
It keeps all the water inside and away from youand it allows you to open it in very small spacesso you don't have to get wet just to open your umbrella.
Looks like an ordinary folding up pocket umbrella.
Well, the instructions say one button to open, one button to close.
You can use it one handed.
Let's see how it goes.
Okay, it certainly does work that way.
Now, a lot of umbrellas will do that.
The unusual thing is that you can just push a buttonto have them close back up.
Normally you have to reach up and pull them downand push the little metal piece.
Let's see what happens when I push.
I guess I just push the button again.
Ah!Without hesitation it closes.
Stay out of its way.
Now you notice this appearance to itwhere all of the material is folded up around it,and the reason for that is now it's not gonna closeany more by itself, but if it's gotten all wet,the water's here, the water is now on this partof the material that's against the other materialand you can simply grab it and slide it up closed.
Oh my gosh, this is where all that popping action came from.
So now, all the water is in hereand you can just wrap it up and at your leisure, open it up, dump the water out, let it dry.
You don't have to worry about bringing it into your car, putting on the floor or the seat and all the water runs out.
If you keep it like this, all the water stays in.
It has a soft feel handle.
I like this.
It's like some of the utensils you can buyfor the kitchen now that are real easy on the handand they have some builtin cush, and the carry strap and a little bag to fit it in,but don't put it away with the water insideor it will mold and mildew and then it will not be pleasantthe next time you open it and you pop itand that stuff goes flying all over the place.
Now, the Better Umbrella, which I really like, works very similarly.
I'll just show you here as a refresherand I'll link to it at the end of this videoif you'd like to see about the Better Brella.
This was about $30.
Now, it doesn't change in length at alland you can't do it with one hand.
Pushing the button doesn't do anything, but the idea is that you take it like this, slide it out the car door when it's raining.
You push the button to release the lock, and then it opens outside of the car door,so it's all ready for you to step outof the car and you're covered.
Now, this is also larger in size than this, but that's always the case with full sized umbrellascompared to pocket umbrellas.
And to release the Better Brella, push that same button.
It kind of pulls itself in, and again, you can have a whole bunch of water in herebut so long as you do this, wrap it up,and then stand it like this, that water won't go anywhere.
How long the fast acting mechanismin the Pocket Incredi-Brella lastsdoing that quick pop open and quick pop close, well, I'll just have to try it out and see.
Right now, it's back to being sunny again.
I'm waiting for some rain and I'll show you how this works.
Guess what? We got rain.
Here I go to see if this will keep me drygetting in the car.
Ah!It's a lot of rain.
Woo, how'd I do?Not too bad, considering.
Time to test how it does in the wind.
Okay, now after that, will it still do its thing,'cause it looks a little dingy right there to me.
Here we go, let's see if it pops in.
Oh, we got thunder.
Let's see if it pops out again.
Still going strong.
Okay, so you're here, the umbrella is all soaking wet.
When you bring it in, you don't wanna get all that rainin your house, in your car, so you do this, all the water and the water droplets are now in hereso you put it like that, close it up, and you're good.
And when you have the opportunity, you can just take it, open it up,let out all the water come out.
Well, what do you know? Not too bad.
I got a little bit wet, but that's inevitablewhen the wind is blowing the rain sideways, but I was surprised that when I popped this inside outa couple times that the mechanism is still workingand it still does its pop open and pop close.
I'm not going to do that now that it's all wet in this room.
