This Backup Camera Will Save Your Life

rev up your engines, let's face it all drivers have a big fear, that when youback up you're gonna hit something, now by law in the United States since theyear 2018 all cars sold have to have backup cameras on them for safetyreasons, but let's face it, do you really want to spend twenty-five to forty fivethousand dollars on a new car just for a backup camerawell this boscam system costs less than a hundred dollarsit's wireless and you can easily install it yourself, now they work great inany vehicle, but I'm going to show it in this big van, because the vans are largethey're hard to backup and if you were installing a wired system, you got to runall that wiring from the back where the camera is, all the way into the frontwhere your monitor is, the only thing you have to install is, you put the cameraback by the license plate, then with that unit there is the wireless transmitterthat transmits the pictures to the front, then in the front you have the monitorit just plugs into the cigarette lighter of course if you want a hardwire it to thecar you do that, you don't have to run a wire all the way from your monitor backto the camera, which is a royal pain in the butt in any vehicle but especiallyin something as long as this van, now you could put your cat in the back for alookout, but really they're so skittish you couldn't trust them, now the camerainstallation is easy, you just unscrew part of the license plate, just take thisscrew out, put the camera behind it and screw itback in, then the camera is set up, then you have to fish the wires through, in thiscase we'll take out the back panel, just remove the screwsthis one's really long, but once you got it apart, fish the wires through and thenyou got a mount the antenna assembly for the transmitter, it's got a sticky back3m tape you can put it wherever you want, like right here if you wantthen comes the only tricky part, there's a red power wire and a black ground wirethe ground wire you can just screw to the body of the vehicle, because it'scalled ground, but the power wire you got to put it to the power wire that runsyour backup lights, because it's a backup light camera, so what you do is, turn yourkey on with the engine off and put the car in reverse, then the backup light ison, then you can just get a test meter if you don't have a wiring diagram, put iton volts, then go to the wiring and find out exactly where that wire is that's gotthe power on now for the backup lights, now I'm lazy so I'm doing it that waysplicing into the wiring harness, but if you're not so lazy, and you want aneasier job, just take the whole assembly out, then you'll see the backup light andyou'll see the wiring going right to it that haspower and you can splice it in here, but then you gotta take all this crap apartand the inside, which is a little bit more work, but if you don't mind and youwant to make sure it's the right light take this out and splice it in right atthe connector there, now that was a hard part here comes the easy part, hooking upthe monitor, now that's a heck of a lot easier, it's got a cigarette adapter youplug it in, now you can see the light is on so it's working and there we have ita nice backup light camera that you can mount wherever you want, now I tried out a bunch of these backup light cameras, but this boscam one isthe best one I tried out so far, yeah it's $99 and there's a lot cheaper ones outthere, but this wireless setup works quite well and a waterproof camera lastsover time, you don't need wires to go all the way from the back, all the way up tothe front that saves you a lot of time and energy, plus since it's wireless ifyou want to switch it from vehicle to vehicle, it's very easy to switch out,you have to rewire all that stuff, nowrealize that there's all kinds of things out like thisHDR Android rearview mirror assembly that does DVRa front and rear camera, so not only is a backup camera, but it's a camcorder thatcan record in case you get an accident, but as I said, if you're dealing with ahardwired system like this, hey you put the camera in the same place on the backbut then you got to run this wire the whole way through your vehicle, all theway up into the rear-view mirror for it to work, it's a real pain to hook upplus, a lot of people don't like this rigged look of sticking one mirror overthe other mirror, and having wires hanging all over the place, now yes thisboscam does it have a wire that goes and feeds the power to the system, butyou can either hide the wires or if you really want to be a pro, you can justtake the cigarette light adapter and cut the wire off and just go to yourignition switch and follow it under the dash, and wire it directly to yourignition switch, so that when you turn your ignition switch on, it has power andruns the unit, but if you don't want to go to all that trouble, hey this adapteralso has a USB port on it too, so you can still run stuff off your cigarette lighterbesides just as unit, because this unit doesn't use very much power at all, sonow you know how not to back up into things and especially at night becauseit does have nighttime vision, so you can see at night, now in the night it's blackand white it's not in color, but you can still see a quite well because realizeyour backup lights are still lighting up some of the area as you backup and sinceits mechanic Monday, I'm giving away one of these Boscam wireless backup camerasystems, to have a chance to win just place a clean non offensive comment onthe youtube comments below, and the winner will be chosen randomly bycomputer to get a nice backup system camera, so you don't have to worry aboutrunning into things, so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repairvideos, remember to ring that Bell!.
