How To CLEAN NASTY Car Seats The Right Way

welcome back to stop for garage todayI'm going to show you how to clean yourcloth interior car seats as you can seeI have two car seats here for my Civicthat are the stock DX EADS the one onthe left definitely showing signs ofwhere a lot of dirt and grime especiallyon the bolsters you can see them thereup above on the right side and left sideboth definitely needs them clean it upand here's the end result the seatsturned out awesome just by using thesimple methods so be sure to followalong and if you haven't hit subscribehit subscribe below and turn onnotifications so that way you know whenany of my new videos come out and guysleave a comment below of what you wantto see me detail next the method I'll beshowing you today is using a standardoff-the-shelf carpet cleaner that Ipicked up at Home Depot for about ahundred and fifty bucks it comes with abagged attachment for a smaller wandspecifically for upholstery and then Ipicked up some of the Zep premium carpetshampoo concentrate which has a goodsmell clean stains and is definitelysomething that is up to the job one ofthe biggest things to keep in mind isyou definitely don't want to oversaturate the carpet because you willhave to let it dry so make sure it's asunny day so you can let it sit out onething that you have to do first is makesure you vacuum the car seats to give itany dirt out of it before you startscrubbing because all you're going to dois scrub that dirt in and you want toextract it you guys can see here how ithas all of these little areas where it'sscuffed and if you're doing leather orany cloth seen in general these littleburrs right here gonna allow you toscratch or rip out threads or damageyour seats one thing you can do to getrid of those is either scratching on theconcrete itself or take an exacto bladeand run it around the edge just toremove any of those high spots whilevacuuming one thing to keep in mindespecially throughout this whole processis that depending on which direction youvacuum or if it's forward back left orrightyou will leave lines on the fabric sodon't let that deceive you when you'reworking through the carpet cleaningprocess because it will make it looklike there is dirt in certain areas whenit's not just press it over with yourhand to move it around if you need toand double check I know some of you arethinking why am I using just a standardcarpet cleaner but to be honest itactually works really really well forthis sort of job and you can use itaround your house but if you guys areinterested in something moresomething more professional and you dohave a detailing business or you justwant to spend the extra money by allmeans there's plenty of options outthere that are much more capable andrugged than a standard off-the-shelfcarpet cleaner but if you're doing thisevery once in a while this is a perfectalternative for this specific cleaningsolution I'm using five ounces of theconcentrate in one gallon of hot waterone thing I always recommend is if youcan get hot water always use hot waterbecause it will always clean better in acarpet cleaner such as this I'm going tofill this up and then we're going tostart extractingyou guys see how much dirt is gettingpulled out there like that's almosthonestly disgusting that it's doing thatbut you guys will have to wait to thevery end to see what the water lookslike that I poured out of this thingit was truly unreal you can already seeeven after just one pass of the seatsyou can tell a difference between whereI'm vacuuming and on the left side whereit's dirty how much dirt and how muchcleaner the seat heart isas your cleanings he just take your timego slow allow the extractor to pull outas much water as possible and usebristles on the brush to agitate thefabric if you have a separate handledbristle you could always use that tooafter one pass just to work the fabriceven more but typically this willusually get the job done worst case isyou can go through two to three timepasses if you need to on a specific areaand spot clean but for the most part oneto two passes is all the secretly newsat this point you can probably tell Itry to work in different sections on theseat where the seat fabric lines havealready separated each individual pieceso that way you don't forget what thepieces you work but also you can seewhere your progress is going and howmuch the part is already cleaned if youjust do it all once you're gonna losetrack and then also you're not going tomake sure it's as clean as it possiblycan bebecause this is the seat bottom rememberthat majority of the dirt is alwaysgoing to be on this area so for myparticular case I probably did three orfour passes on this area just to makesure I got all the dirt out and you'llstill see that even after all this timeI am still pulling out a ton of dirtit's actually rather crazy to thinkaboutnow that way on this seat all clean tohighly recommend just letting it sit outin the Sun longer because the extractordid a pretty good job or a shot backwould but at the same time you stillhave some dampness that you want to dryout so the Sun is a perfect thing to door if you don't have an opportunity thatif you just let it sit for 24 hoursit'll probably dry outside or insideyour garage but yeah one thing to keepin mind guys if you can't buy anextractor or any carpet machine at likeMeijer or Home Depot or wherever youguys have a store that has in Walmartany place rent some and they usuallycome with an attachment as well so youcould rent one for 50 bucks an hourwhatever ends up being for you guysand here's the end result if you guysliked today's video please be sure togive it a thumbs up and leave a commentbelow on what video would like to seenext and if you haven't subscribedalready
